Sebastián Pinzón Silva is a Colombian director interested in exploring the collective conscience of his country through the immersive power of film.  His work has screened at festivals including Locarno, Camden, True/False, Cartagena, SFFILM Fest, DOC NYC, and New Directors/New Films. He holds a degree in Film and Television from the Savannah College of Art and Design and a master’s degree in Documentary Media from Northwestern University. His short PALENQUE was recognized with awards from FICValdivia, Cinélatino, Belo Horizonte, Palm Springs ShortFest, and the Directors Guild of America. Sebastián was part of the post-production team for Minding the Gap (Sundance Breakthrough Filmmaking Award) at Kartemquin Films. He recently shot a short film for National Geographic that deals with the polarization in Colombia around the peace agreement with FARC. Sebastián is currently based in Chicago.
