Sebastián Pinzón Silva is a Colombian filmmaker interested in exploring the collective conscience of his country through the immersive and sensorial power of cinema. His films have screened at various festivals including Locarno, Festival dei Popoli, True/False, Camden International Film Festival, RIDM, Portland International Film Festival, FICValdivia, Rencontres de Toulouse, DOC NYC, and the San Francisco International Film Festival. Sebastián holds a degree in film production from the Savannah College of Art and Design and a MFA in Documentary Media from Northwestern University. His thesis film PALENQUE was selected to be part of Pardi di Domani by Locarno Festival during its 70th edition, Nuevos Creadores by the Cartagena International Film Festival, and New Directors/New Films by MoMA and Lincoln Center. Sebastián recently shot and edited a short film for National Geographic around the thematic of displacement and the healing process of Colombia. He is currently developing his first feature length film inspired by this project.

Sebastián lives and works in Chicago. He is a founding member of Mirror Stage.
